When I began practicing medicine, there was a lot of pressure to give narcotics no matter what. As I went through my medical career it got worse and worse. Now I have the opportunity to help patients with a natural form of medicine that produces better results. As a physician, it was easy to become an advocate.
The use of medical marijuana is all about giving people hope and options in healthcare. Treatment with medical marijuana also takes into consideration a person’s physical state, nutritional status, psychological attitude, and spiritual beliefs. The “whole person” is cared for, not an isolated body part or disease.
As a physician, I have the unique privilege of helping patients understand their condition and create a plan to improve their health. Hearing patients tell me how they are able to use medical cannabis to go back to their normal life and no longer experience the side effects of various prescription drugs is rewarding.
I am pleased to use my experience earned through John Hopkins Hospital, Brooke Army Medical Center, and Florida Hospital to help patients achieve a better quality of life – and avoid negative side effects – with medical cannabis. I enjoy the opportunity to offer compassionate care through CannaMD.
It is wonderful to be able to offer patients an effective and safe treatment option with medical marijuana. In particular, to help those who are experiencing side effects or dependence on controlled substances the opportunity to discontinue these medications and feel better both physically and mentally is most gratifying.
