Over the course of this article, we are going to go into detail on what it takes to get approved for a medical marijuana card, and also give you a few ideas on where you can go to purchase your legal cannabis products once approved.
MEDICAL MARIJUANA APPROVAL PROCESS IN THE VILLAGES
The first step on your journey to getting a medical marijuana card in The Villages is to reach out and schedule an appointment with a medical marijuana doctor. While there aren’t that many options available in The Villages, fortunately CannaMD has a convenient location right in Cline Suites!
To set up your appointment at CannaMD’s Villages location, give us a call at (855) 420-9170. Our Villages office is located at the address below:
4076 E SR 44

On appointment day, you’ll get to meet with a certified medical marijuana physician who will be able to answer any questions you have on your condition, as well as the treatment options available to you. Your doctor will assess your symptoms and, if eligible, send on a recommendation to the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) for further consideration.
Shortly afterwards, you will receive an email from the FDOH which contains your login information for their patient portal, where you can go to access the registry identification card application and pay the state-required $75 fee.
After submitting your application, you’ll need to wait 7 to 21 business days to hear back. You’ll then receive an email that includes your temporary medical marijuana card, which you can use that same day to begin purchasing legal cannabis products.
