In the wake of Hurricane Ian, the Florida Department of Health has released an emergency order that allows certain medical marijuana (MMJ) patients the option of renewing their certification via telehealth appointment. More information on which patients are eligible can be found below.
Which Patients Qualify For Telehealth?
If you’re an existing Florida medical marijuana cardholder, you can likely benefit from the latest emergency order by following the steps below:
1.) Ensure you’re in one of the following counties that have reinstated telehealth:
- Charlotte
- Collier
- DeSoto
- Flagler
- Hardee
- Hendry
- Highlands
- Hillsborough
- Lake
- Lee
- Manatee
- Orange
- Osceola
- Pinellas
- Polk
- Putnam
- St. Johns
- Sarasota
- Seminole
- Volusia
2.) Ensure your most recent, in-person marijuana card exam was conducted within the last 30 weeks.
3.) Ensure your smartphone or computer has a working camera.
4.) Schedule a telehealth follow-up with your CannaMD prescribing physician.
