Florida medical marijuana clinic, CannaMD, continues statewide expansion with the opening of its new Sarasota location (6151 Lake Osprey Drive, Suite 300, Sarasota, FL 34240). This marks the 13th opening for the rapidly expanding clinic, as well as a welcome change for Sarasota County residents.
As patient Justin Farmer explains:
Other doctors charge more by making you re-certify every few months, even though the law says 210 days. That’s why I drive all the way to Orlando to work with CannaMD – they’re upfront, honest, and their pricing is the best. Plus their doctors really know what they’re talking about. I’m so glad they’re coming to Sarasota!
CannaMD physician, Michael Zhang, M.D., will begin practicing at the Sarasota location on October 23; patients may book an appointment by calling 1 (855) 420-9170 or visiting CannaMD.com.
Editor’s Note (2/2019): Joey Beyer, M.D. will now oversee Sarasota care as Dr. Zhang transfers to another CannaMD location.
Before purchasing marijuana from a medical marijuana treatment center (MMTC) – or dispensary – patients must first qualify for a medical marijuana certification; CannaMD provides qualified patients with the state-required recommendation to complete this process.
Florida currently recognizes the following conditions for medical marijuana treatment:
- ALS (Lou Gehrig’s)
- Cancer
- Crohn’s disease
- Epilepsy
- Glaucoma
- HIV/AIDS
- Multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson’s disease
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Chronic nonmalignant pain
- Terminal illness
Florida’s Amendment 2 also allows for treatment of other “diagnosable, debilitating conditions of like, kind, or class” (such as anxiety, depression, and migraines).
